Six Apart and Twentieth Century Fox Team Up to Provide Microblogging and Official TypePad Online Community for "AVATAR" Fans Social Experience Includes the Sharing of Exclusive "AVATAR" Video and Images on Community Site and Personal Fan Microblogs (November 18, 2009)

SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 11/18/09 -- Six Apart, the world's leading blogging software and services company, today announced a partnership with Twentieth Century Fox to introduce an official online community on TypePad and to provide "AVATAR"-themed microblogs for fans of one of the most anticipated films of the year: "AVATAR." "AVATAR" fans can join the community at http://avatar.typepad.com today, one month before the release of Oscar®-winning filmmaker James Cameron's epic adventure on December 18.

"Fans want to share their anticipation with each other before a movie is released, and they love to post their impressions after seeing the movie," said Chris Alden, Chairman and CEO of Six Apart. "The 'AVATAR' community on TypePad and 'AVATAR' microblogs give fans a place not only to share their thoughts, but to start their own blogs for sharing with friends outside the 'AVATAR' community, whether on TypePad, Facebook or Twitter."

"AVATAR" takes us to a spectacular world beyond imagination, where a reluctant hero embarks on an epic adventure, ultimately fighting to save the alien world he has learned to call home. Cameron, the Oscar®-winning director of "Titanic," first conceived the film 15 years ago, when the means to realize his vision did not yet exist. Now, after four years of production, "AVATAR," a live action film with a new generation of special effects, delivers a fully immersive cinematic experience of a new kind, where the revolutionary technology invented to make the film disappears into the emotion of the characters and the sweep of the story.

"This is a perfect match: Just as 'AVATAR' is a revolutionary moviegoing experience, TypePad is revolutionizing social media," said Jeffrey Godsick, Twentieth Century Fox's executive VP of marketing. "Members of the community will get the latest 'AVATAR' news, see exclusive movie-related content, and participate in movie-related activities. We're pleased to have a central online place where 'AVATAR' fans can connect and share their excitement for the film with each other -- and with their friends on other social sites like Facebook and Twitter."

"AVATAR" fans can join the Official Community on TypePad by visiting http://avatar.typepad.com to see the best "AVATAR" content from around the web, exclusive images, a behind-the-scenes video, and real-time updates of "AVATAR" activity taking place on popular sites like Twitter, YouTube, and Flickr. Once members of the community, fans can share notes, photos, and videos with other members. They can also connect with other fans by "following" them.

Additionally, all TypePad members can create their own "AVATAR" microblog and use it to share words, pictures, or videos about "AVATAR" or other topics they find interesting. Members can post from wherever they are, and update their Twitter and Facebook friends in the process.
