Reno Tahoe International Film Festival Coming to Sparks Galaxy Theatre(August 25, 2014)
Reno, NV (PRWEB) August 25, 2014
The Sierra Nevada Performing Arts Association, a local non-profit organization, is planning the first annual Reno Tahoe International Film Festival (RTIFF) for June 2015. For their inaugural year, film makers and screenwriters from around the world will submit their films through Withoutabox.com for the honor of being selected to screen in competition as well as cash prizes.
The festival is already attracting filmmakers from Los Angeles, New York and all over the world. This is our opportunity to show the entertainment industry what the Reno Tahoe region has to offer, and were excited to have Galaxy Theatres as a major sponsor of our event, said Chayah Masters, Executive Director of RTIFF.
When we first opened our Sparks theater, we knew there was a need for this type of festival in the market, when we heard about the Reno Tahoe International Film Festival, we reached out immediately to show our support, Rafe Cohen, President of Galaxy Theatres said on Wednesday. At Galaxy Theatres we are all movie buffs, if there is something we can do to help the local film communities we do business in, we are happy to do so. As part of their sponsorship, Sparks Galaxy theatre will have the privilege of screening the Best Film of the Festival selected by the Jury on the closing night of the film festival.
We are happy a niche is being filled with the Reno Tahoe International Film Festival, and are elated that Sparks Galaxy Theatre is a major sponsor of the event. says Dennis McGovern, General Manger of the Legends at Sparks Marina.
The Reno Tahoe International Film Festival is focused on enriching the local arts communities and promoting economic development in the region as well. They plan on giving back by raising funds for youth scholarships and educational art programs in northern Nevada.
RTIFF is still in planning stages for the June 2015 festival, and more information will be announced once available. Additional funding will be generated from an Indiegogo campaign launching Saturday, August 23, and sponsorship opportunities are still available, inquires can to contact Chayah Masters.
