SANTA BARBARA, Calif., Aug. 11, 2014 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- One Story Road is pleased to announce the launch of their website This site allows users to both read short stories that have been written by authors around the world and submit their own stories. One Story Road publishes users' short stories online for free for everyone to read. Stories from people and cultures all over the world are accessible to readers in their own homes.

The idea for One Story Road began with the National Story Project, which was part of National Public Radio's weekend program "All Things Considered with Paul Auster". The National Story Project featured Auster reading on the air short stories that had been submitted by listeners. The program ran from November of 1999 to July of 2001. During that time, 21 different stories were read on-air. It was while listening to this broadcast in the coffee shop "Off the Beaten Path" in Steamboat, Colorado, that the idea of One Story Road was born.

Currently, One Story Road has submissions from authors all over the world, including the United States, Italy, Bosnia, Cameroon, England, Kenya, Grenada, and Pakistan. Looking forward, One Story Road aspires to have submissions from all over the world to allow people to both connect with others and explore the voice, talent, and local color of other regions of the world.

One Story Road began out of an appreciation for NPR's National Story Project and hopes to continue the appreciate of storytelling throughout the world. One Story Road grew from the connection and the passion of the shared stories as a platform for others to write and share their work. One Story Road presents itself as an open stage for users to submit their work while discovering new talent and connecting with other aspiring artists in their vicinity.
