InformationWeek Finds 5 Wearables Taking Over Healthcare
NEW YORK, July 29, 2014 /PRNewswire/ --When it comes to technology, healthcare is usually one of the last industries to adopt new devices, if not the last. However, when it comes to wearables, healthcare is trying to move ahead of the curve.
Though the market for the Internet of Things and its wearable cousins is less than mature, these devices are starting to make an impact in the healthcare industry, whether it's in the hospital for a major procedure or for personal use in helping to keep us fit.
With that in mind, InformationWeek editor Rodney Brown set out to find five specific wearable applications that are making their way into the healthcare field, especially for personal fitness. In his story, Brown writes: "It should come as no surprise that fitness is where the wearables sector did most of its early growing, with occasional forays into vests and jackets that contained torn-down laptops connected to heads up display goggles."
