Pcxen Systems Receives Home Virtualization and Decentralized Cloud Patent

  (July 15, 2014)

REDMOND, Wash., July 15, 2014 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Pcxen Mini-cloudpatent enables a user to consolidate all his digital devices into a single device by simplifying device construction. In the long run, Mini-cloud will enable the user to sell spare capacityin Mini-cloud systems back in the cloud to offset monthly bill or to earn money.

Pcxen Systems has received US patent 8782637 titled "Mini-cloud systems for enabling user subscription to cloud service in residential environment". The patent covers virtualization of digital devices in residential environments by consolidatingdevices into a single device. The technology will virtualize devices such as game consoles, DVR, cable TV, Desktops, Tablets, Routers, and Modems; andrun them in a single box called the Mini-cloud system to be installed in garages or in living rooms. All physical devices are transformed into virtual instances running inside the mini-cloud device, thenconnectedto TV or monitors using a simple connectorbuilt-in or attached toTV or monitor ports. The setupenables users to interact with the virtual instances using typical remotes/controllers just like a regular physical devices. Mini-cloud systems also offer a subscription system that creates a new cloud service connecting multiple Mini-cloud systems and backend cloudto bring the flexibility of cloud services at the doorstep of a home user. The subscription systems allow users to subscribe any devices for any set time. The approach will reduce or remove upfront cost for multiple devices andoverall monthly subscription bills using the power of consolidation. Even users will be able toearn money by selling back spare computing and storage capacity in the mini-cloud systems that can turn into positive cash flow.

Mini-cloud deviceswill make tablet, laptop and desktop devices thinner, lighter and cheaper by removing all computing elements, then connecting to a virtual instances in mini-cloud system. Those smarter devices effectively become stateless casings with cheap built-in connector chipsthat offer huge reductions in price.

"Virtualization in homes is long overdue and soon we will be in the Zettabyte and Zettaflop cloud era that would lead us to a decentralized cloud starting with home,"said ATM Shafiqul Khalid Chief Technology Officer of Pcxen system. "We can't beat the speed of light that would ultimately dictate the eventual form of the cloud." "Consumers deserve full blown game consoles, laptops, tablets or desktops at a flat price no higher than $99 and then subscribe any configuration they like for a set time they want to use". Pcxen systems has few patents in the pipeline to create an end-to-end solution to lead home virtualization and decentralized cloud that would benefit consumers from the consumerization of virtualization and cloudtechnology only available to enterprises.

In less than 20 years, we will have more than 3 billion power users each producing 100+ TB data every few years coming from 3D/2D video and sensor data from Internet of Everything (IoE). Each userwill use1-5 Teraflops of computing power that would result into a cumulative 200 Zettabytes of data and few Zettaflops of computing power. Well known cloud service providers willhave a hard time tryingto process those massive data in their centralized datacenter based cloud infrastructures. Pcxen believes that future cloud will be formed by connecting devices used by those 3+ billion usersand bringing back spare unused capacity from those devices into the cloud. Also, each of those 3 billion userswill consume 50 smart devices that would result into 150 billion of smart devices that would evolve around users. Those smart devices would need a cloud staging solution that lives next to usersmay bein garage, living room or inside smartphone. Mini-cloud and its future solutions will nicely fit in that gap in the future while delivering immediate vale through home virtualization reducing device cost.
