EXASOL Briefs BBBT on US Expansion Plans and Powerful In-Memory Analytic Database Technology

EXASOL Highlights EXASolution's powerful engine for analytics and data warehousing to Boulder BI Brain Trust analyst consortium (July 10, 2014)

BOULDER, Colo., July 10, 2014 /PRNewswire/ --EXASOL AG,, the provider of EXASolution a powerful, in-memory analytic database, recently presented to the independent BI industry analysts of the Boulder Business Intelligence Brain Trust (BBBT), on Friday, June 27.

Speaking at the BBBT event, EXASOL CEO Aaron Auld and US Director of Marketing & Sales Kevin Cox provided an overview of the company, its US expansion plans and technological insight into EXASolution, which has consistently dominated the TransactionProcessingPerformanceCouncil(TPC-H) benchmarks for many years. EXASOL also presented use cases from customers King, myThings, Semikron and Wefi on how their customers are using Hadoop and machine data.

"Presenting at the BBBT was a fantastic experience," said Auld. "The BBBT is doing great work in developing the BI market by creating an open discussion between vendors like EXASOL and leading independent analysts from around the world, not just the US. What makes the experience so powerful is the two-way discussion between practitioners and vendors. I received some excellent feedback on our pricing and proof-of-concept offerings as well as good ideas for our market expansion plans. It was an intelligent and highly enjoyable session all around."

"In-memory databases promise incredible performance at small incremental costs these days, but questions still arise," said Claudia Imhoff, founder of BBBT. "When do I use in-memory technology? What are typical use cases for it? Does it replace my traditional data warehouse database? How well does it perform compared to other databases? We had an excellent discussion with EXASOL around these questions."

Feedback from analysts attending the presentation was positive after learning more about EXASolution, the industry's first database to combine in-memory technology, columnar compression and storage, with massively parallel processing. "I like what I see from EXASOL, and I want to hear more," said Neil Raden, CEO and principal analyst from Hired Brains Research.
