Insider Reveals Best Travel Picks for Rio De Janeiro, Brazil During the FIFA World Cup InternationalLiving.com

Baltimore, MD (PRWEB) May 21, 2014

InternationalLiving.coms Brazil correspondent, John Clites, an American who has been living in the country since 2008, reveals his top insider picks for what to see and do in Rio de Janeiro during the FIFA World Cup.

Visitors from all over the world will descend on Brazil for the event, which starts on June 12. Most will visit Christ the Redeemer and Sugarloaf Mountain, but Clites offers advice on activities not typically published in guidebooks.

Rio de Janeiro has so much more to offer, and many activities are inexpensive or even free, Clites says.

His report offers tips on everything from where to get the best photosto a hike worth takingto his pick for the best meal in the city.

For the more adventurous, the report gives advice on where to go for the best hiking, biking and hang gliding. And for meat lovers, Clites reveals where to go for the best churrasco (local BBQ) in town and also where to find the best pizza.

For shopping, explore Rios version of a Turkish bazaar, the market at Uruguaiana. Here in a mix of fixed shops, kiosks, stalls, and pushcarts, you can find beachwear, tennis shoes, leather goods, small electronics items, and also a variety of street food, Clites says.

And while most may visit the Botanical Gardens, Clites reveals an alternative park with free entrance and where one of Rios best venues is located.

Read, too, about the best area to go when you hit the beach at Ipanema. This is where the beautiful people hang out. Rent an umbrella and a couple of chairs; youll be here awhile, Clites says.
