Los Angeles Drug Rehab Center Responds to Recent Hoffman Loss

Westlake Village, CA (PRWEB) February 04, 2014

Southern California treatment center founder and Director, Stuart Birnbaum, reaffirmed his commitment to fighting the disease of addiction following Sundays sudden death of Hollywoods beloved Philip Seymour Hoffman. His message, founded on the principle that no one is immune to drug addiction, entails broadening the scope of the facilitys services for all those touched by chemical dependency.

Having first launched The Lakehouse Recovery Center in 2005 in the city of Westlake Village in Ventura County, the former Hollywood screenwriter has continued his fight against the enormous uptick in heroin abuse throughout nearby regions including, Simi Valley, Calabasas and Thousand Oaks. The re-commitment entails utilizing new resources to help educate different segments of society, especially regarding the indiscriminate nature of addiction. This has led to the facilitys integration of new medically advanced recovery methods such as neurofeedback, brain mapping, EMDR therapy and more.

Says Birnbaum, My line of work is unique in a number of ways, including the fact that I am often faced with having to explain the reality that neither affluence nor education is of any match against the madness of chemical dependency. My staff and I often find ourselves sitting with families of opportunity and success, and it breaks our hearts as they come to grips with the devastating reality that they or their loved on are not immune to it.

Roger Birnbaum, brother of Stuart and former co-chairman and co-CEO of MGM, supports their mission to continue creating awareness throughout a number of socioeconomic segments and industries, including film and television. Birnbaum's brother is also the Executive Producer of "Robo Cop" as well as blockbusters like, "Seabiscuit" and "The Sixth Sense". Asked to comment on the sudden loss of Hoffman, states Roger Birnbaum, Philip was enormously talentedhe made a tremendous impact throughout the industry but more importantly, he waged a hard fought battle with addiction and was on the winning side for over 20 years. We lost a good, good man and he will be dearly missed.

The expanded efforts will use new avenues for education and support, including the launch of a new website featuring the new services and added resource availability for clients, families, and the community. Lakehouse staff is also growing in the expansion and any call relating to substance issues is welcomed. The spirit of this is embodied in a quote found in the Lakehouse Garden; J. R. R. Tolkiens, Not all those who wander are lost, is about helping to empower, inform and advise anyone searching for help and direction.

The Lakehouse Recovery Center provides an array of addiction and alcoholism treatment services including but not limited to: medical detoxification, residential treatment, outpatient treatment resourcing, private and family coaching & therapy and advanced clinical services. The Lakehouse is California state licensed, and affiliated with such national organizations as SAMSHA, NAADAC and NIDA. More information can be found on the company website: http://www.lakehouserecoverycenter.com or by calling 24/7 at 877-762-3707.
