Over 500 Members of the Financial Blogging Community Meet in St. Louis, October 17-20, for #FinCon13

  (March 05, 2013)

St. Louis, MO (PRWEB) March 05, 2013

St. Louis will be a bloggers mecca this year, as the great minds of the financial blogging community descend upon the city from October 17-20, 2013 to discuss all topics in the world of finance and blogging. This annual event, know as the Financial Blogger Conference #FinCon13, never fails to bring out the best key members in the financial blogging industry. Over 500 members are expected to be in attendance this year at the Hyatt Regency (315 Chestnut St.). Tickets are officially on sale as of March 5, 2012.

This four-day conference is designed to allow the best of the financial blogging community to share their knowledge with one another, making this the ultimate networking and learning destination. The attendees of this niche blogging conference will include financial (personal finance, coupons, investing, etc.) bloggers, financial professionals, columnists, authors whom also blog, as well as financial companies and new media experts.

#FinCon13 conference organizer, Philip Taylor, was motivated to create this event after seeking out his colleagues and contemporaries at other blogging events.

Each year Im blown away by what all attendees bring to the table at FinCon, the attendance is tremendous and each attendee has something to contribute. The networking and learning opportunities are endless, said Taylor, also known as PT from PT Money: Personal Finance. Thats what I set out to do by creating this event, allowing face-to face connections with people just as passionate about finance and blogging as I am, he added.

Each year, FinCon provides a plethora of speakers. Jean Chatzky, an award-winning personal finance journalist and the financial editor for NBCs TODAY show, will be giving a keynote address at #FinCon13. She is also known for her role as AARPs personal finance advisor, and the host of Money Matters with Jean Chatzky on RLTV. Additional #FinCon13 keynotes include, Pat Flynn (the creator of the Smart Passive Income brand and one of the most successful online entrepreneurs, with a podcast thats been downloaded over 2.5 million times) and Derek Halpern (founder of SocialTriggers.com, a business training company that publishes a blog with more than 88,370 subscribers). The complete #FinCon13 speaker line up will be announced later this year. Former FinCon speakers have included J.D. Roth (Get Rich Slowly), Liz Weston (MSN Money), Ramit Sethi (New York Times best seller), Farnoosh Torabi (Yahoo! Finance) and more.

Collectively, #FinCon13 attendees have an audience that includes thousands of subscribers and Twitter followers, and represents the majority of blogs listed on the Wise1000 list of the top personal finance blogs.

This year, #FinCon13 will be offering a limited-opportunity Boot Camp on October 16-17, with participation open to 50 bloggers hoping to have a value-added, extended FinCon experience. The regular conference will begin on October 17 and is, as always, open to anyone and everyone in the financial blogosphere.
In addition to the opportunity to network and learn, #FinCon13 will also offer attendees a chance to give back through a community service project. More details to come as the event nears.
