Lake County Captains Announce Promotional Giveaways for 2013

The Lake County Captains, the Class A affiliate of the Cleveland Indians, is announcing its complete 2013 promotional schedule this week. Today the promotional giveaways will be highlighted.

The Captains will offer many premium giveaways beginning on Opening Night, Thursday, April 4 when the first 1,500 fans will receive a fleece blanket, presented by Lake Heath and all fans will receive a magnet schedule courtesy of PNC Bank. The giveaways are part of the Captains Opening Weekend celebration.

Every Tuesday beginning April 16, the first 500 kids 12 and under in attendance will receive a Webkinz plush dog in conjunction with the Captains Dawg Night Tuesdays. These Tuesday games will feature appearances by former Browns players as well as four nights later in the season when dogs can attend the games.

Fathers Day is Sunday, June 16 and the first 1,500 adult men will receive a Captains baseball cap, courtesy of Lake Health. There will also be a special ticket package offered on this date that will allow fathers and kids the opportunity to play catch on the field prior to the game.

On Sunday, June 30, the first 1,000 kids 12 and under will receive a soft-sided lunch box, presented by VisitPittsburgh.com.

On Saturday, July 6, a Skipper Rock-N-Bobble doll featuring the Captains mascot paying tribute to Randy Newman, an inductee in this years class of Rock N Roll Hall of Fame musicians, will be given to the first 1,500 fans compliments of Sysco. This years doll will also feature a sound clip from Randy Newmans Burn On, which is synonymous with the Major League movie. This bobble doll will be part of Rock N Roll weekend at the ballpark on July 6 and 7 and is the fourth in the annual Rockin Skipper bobble doll.

The Captains will celebrate Christmas in July on Saturday, July 20, with a bobble doll presented by Lake Health featuring Skipper wearing The Puffy Coat. The doll is the fourth in a series of Captains Story pieces that pays homage to The Christmas Story house located in Cleveland.

On Thursday, August 1, the first 1,500 fans will receive a Captains mouse pad courtesy of Koppel Advertising as part of "Salute to Technology Night. Several technology-themed prizes from past and present will also be given away to lucky fans throughout the evening.

Go Green Night is Saturday, August 10 and the first 1,500 fans will receive sunglasses made with recycled materials, presented by the Lake County Solid Waste District.

Stanley Steemer will once again present its annual youth replica jerseys, featuring the Captains road jerseys to the first 1,000 kids 12 and under through the gates on Friday, August 16.

The final giveaway of the year will take place over two days as 2,500 adult fans on August 29 and August 30 will receive a 15-month Captains calendar courtesy of Lake Health. The calendar will feature photographs taken and submitted by Captains fans throughout the year via a contest that will be announced at a later date.
