Advice for the new entrepreneur from DareDevil Marketing
(February 08, 2013)Orlando, Fla. (PRWEB) February 08, 2013
Many people do not realize it, but they possess knowledge that could be packaged and sold to willing buyers right now. Thats one thing that entrepreneurs Robert Stukes and Ryan McKinney have learned during their years of creating internet products.
You know a lot about something that somebody else does not know, but because you do it, day in and day out, its not new to you, said Stukes. There is something you know right now that you can package up and give to somebody else that wants that information, and they will gladly pay you for it.
Stukes, founder of DareDevil Marketing, along with fellow entrepreneur and business partner Ryan McKinney, run a podcast and also provide coaching to entrepreneurs as well as creating and selling digital products. In their podcasts, they share their experience and knowledge in internet marketing and general entrepreneurship.
Stukes says that being any kind of entrepreneur internet or otherwise is about fulfilling a need that isnt being met. Solid market research ensures you know what buyers are out there, what they want and how to reach them.
I use a lot of market research to make sure I offer what they want, so by the time I put it in front of them, its a no-brainer for them (to buy), said Stukes. Its just basic supply and demand, all you have to do is look for the demand and then supply it.
This applies to anything out there. If the internet went down tomorrow, we (McKinney) would still survive just because we know how to find a demand and fill it. At the end of the day, isnt that what being an entrepreneur is all about? Me and Ryan dont consider ourselves internet marketers, we consider ourselves entrepreneurs.
McKinney says that a mistake that some first-time entrepreneurs make is setting unrealistic goals and getting discouraged when they do not achieve them. Its something that he has struggled with himself. He suggests new entrepreneurs set short attainable goals to build their confidence and business over time.
I started breaking larger things down to smaller things, so that I could actually achieve them, said McKinney. With each achievement, I could set the next bar a little bit higher.
Part of having high expectations is the expectation of perfection which can prevent you from moving forward and launching your product or service.
Striving for perfection doesnt really exist, says Stukes. Thats one thing I would go back and tell myself (when I first started). I still struggle with this today; I want everything to be right, I want it to look beautiful, I want the customer experience to be good. I triple-check everything on site to make sure it is up and running, but at some point you have to push forward.
Other things that trip-up new entrepreneurs is taking on too much -- including too many clients -- at one time which can distract you from your core products or services. Sometimes saying no to clients can lead to higher payouts.
Networking and developing partnerships can also help you in business, but make sure that any partnerships you form are with people you can trust.
I think that is the most important part of a partnership, is the shared vision and the trust factor, said Stukes.
