My Big Movie Break Is First To Combine Crowdfunding And Competition Offering Funders A Chance To Be In A Movie They Fund

My Big Movie Break Inc. (MBMB) is the first to take crowdfunding to the movies in a way that can result in film roles for funders. Today it debuts a novel entryway into the film biz for struggling artists by having them compete for parts in a movie they help to fund.

To register for this premiere opportunity, website visitors simply fill out the form, submit a $99 contribution towards funding the film, and then fill out their profile to audition online. Its all depicted in MBMBs new website http://www.mybigmoviebreak.com.

My Big Movie Break is a new way for a lot of people who are dreamers and visionaries trying to break into Hollywood perhaps the most exclusive club in the world, says Jeff Vanderpol, President of MBMB, in an interview with Pageantry Magazine. Its a way for a kid in Idaho or even England to get into the movie business, whether in front of the camera or behind it, in a way that no one has ever thought of before. Our company makes the odds incredibly better than the current 1 in 1.5 million for an aspiring actor to become a leading man or woman in a motion picture.

MBMB will accept up to 7,000 registrants per movie project, making the odds of being the lead actor or actress 1 in 7,000. In reality, the odds are even better since only a portion of registrants will be auditioning for the lead acting role. In total there are 16 role categories that registrants can choose to compete in, including director, producer, makeup artists, screenwriter, lighting, and grips.

While competition for roles in a movie is not new, the combination of competition and crowdfunding is unique. According to Forbes.com crowdfunding platforms will raise $2.8 billion by the end of 2012. Independent filmmakers are tapping into that crowdfunding trend as financing films using traditional means is increasingly difficult. MBMBs unique approach takes the concept one step further by offering its contributors a chance to audition for the film they help fund.

Demo reels hosted on YouTube, Vimeo, or other URL
Headshots
Resumes
Scripts
Audio files

Those selected will get a paid role in the film and the opportunity to work side by side with industry veterans, plus a free DVD of the movie, billing as a contributing producer in the movie credits, MP3 Ringtone from the music score, a movie poster, and downloadable desktop wallpaper.
