Jenna Kay with ADP Featured in the Inaugural Episode of Learning Insights

In the past ten years of designing learning for financial services and medical audiences, she has come to understand that for training to achieve results, it should always encourage people to embrace change and never be boring.

Kay's focus is on employer services which supports the sales teams and business units. Her group trains on knowledge and behaviors needed for sales people to be successful. ADP fosters an environment of learning programs that are rolled out daily and supported by senior leadership. In fact, all senior leadership in learning have previous sales background which qualifies them to know and understand how to train sales professionals.

Kay described the training model used by ADP as Zen for Instructional Design. According to Kay, "Presentation Zen is a way of uncluttering the information you present." It is a way to capture the attention and interest of the sales team. Rather than standard powerpoint slides and bullet points, it seeks to make things more understandable through simplicity and clarity of information, putting things on a more emotional level for a better response.
