Print a list of the exhibits for the Expo and keep track of the questions that arise from or about your senior loved ones and their care that are relevant to each. This would include Alzheimers and dementia, nutrition, hearing and other specific medical questions.
Make a list of senior loved ones medical needs and assistive equipment, such as hearing aids (including the battery used), prescription drugs, and over-the-counter medications and supplements.
Compile financial issues, accounts and questions, such as those that are related to insurance, Social Security, Medicare and pensions.
Prepare a schedule of sessions that are of interest and time(s) to visit the Expo to be sure to cover everything thats needed. Check the Expo hours and leave enough time to visit all the exhibitors for whom there are questions and at least a couple hours more to scout out what the others have to offer.
Leave plenty of room in luggage to accommodate information and giveaways picked up at the Expo.
Scout out activities and site-seeing around the event location or on the way and leave extra time so the trip also provides a needed break and relaxation.
Arrange for others who are trusted to provide replacement caregiving to minimize worry about senior loved ones and make the trip a true getaway.
