Burr & Forman's Results Matter Radio Interviews the Current and Incoming Presidents of the Atlanta Chapter of CoreNet Global

On Tuesday September 11th, 2012, Lee Kantor, host of Results Matter radio on Business RadioX was joined in the downtown Atlanta studio by Darlene Hawksley of Real Property Tax Advisors and Peggy Henderson of McPherson Implementing Local Redevelopment Authority to discuss their roles as current and incoming presidents for the Atlanta Chapter of CoreNet Global, along with the mission, philosophy and benefits of the organization on the whole.

With 45 chapters worldwide, CoreNet Global is the worlds leading association for corporate real estate (CRE) and workplace professionals, service providers and economic developers. The Atlanta chapter has 350+ members and the global office is also based here which both Peggy and Darlene agreed provided their chapter of with a level of support and programming that is unparalleled.

When asked about the mission of the group, Darlene said to learn, to grow, to connect and to belong and she expressed that the relationships built within the group have enriched both her personal and professional life immensely. She also talked about the community that exists within the group and added that the group became even more supportive and tight-knit during the downturn in the economy.

Peggy talked about two the Special Interest Groups within CoreNet Global, the Young Leaders group and the Women of CoreNet Global and talked about how those groups work within the local chapter. (Young Leaders is very active currently, and Women of CoreNet will be launching in the near future). She also talked about the male/female balance in the industry and Darlene noted that she was the first female president of the Atlanta Chapter and Peggy is the second. Peggy further explained that they are seeing more and more women both in the business and taking an active role in the organization.

Peggy commented on the formal and informal mentoring that takes place in the group and Darlene added that the group is not just for corporate real estate executives but is also an excellent place for service providers to the industry and professionals considering getting into the field.
