Specialty Cinema recommends LED Lighting Solution to Reduce Electricity Costs

  (September 13, 2012)

Melbourne (PRWEB) September 13, 2012

According to the leading cinema equipment supplier, the growing cost of operations and increasing utility bills is hitting cinemas harder than most businesses. Running a cinema takes a considerable amount of electricity and most cinema equipment (such as projectors and sound systems) cant be easily changed to be more energy efficient. However, Specialty Cinema suggests that by introducing LED lighting to their venues, cinema operators can significantly reduce costs.

Until recently, cinema lighting was limited to incandescent or fluorescent lights neither of them very electricity efficient.

Many cinemas had utility bills that were going through the roof, said George Aleksiunas, Cinema Sales Executive at Specialty Cinema. If you have been depending on these standard cinema lighting options and you are battling a high overhead, then you need to consider the newest option in lighting, Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs).

LEDs have a number of advantages. For example, because they use low temperature illumination, they do not heat up the surrounding space, which means you are saving on air-conditioning costs. They are also extremely energy efficient by only using a fraction of the electricity of standard lighting.

LEDs can be used in light fixtures throughout a cinema, including LED stair nosing, exterior signage, interior box office and house signage. They can be displayed in a number of colours making it easy to customize their look and feel.

Cinemas that introduce LED lights should see an immediate positive change in electricity bills, said George Aleksiunas.
